Recent Happenings.....

School is out!  My summer has begun!  With that being said, the past couple of weeks leading up to school being out have been crazy and very busy.  So I thought I would finally update the blog and share what Payton and I have been up to.

Had to say goodbye to an AMAZING group of kids.  Not going to lie, one of my favorite groups.  Cried a lot saying bye to these fantastic kids.

Payton even made it into our school's yearbook!  :)

We participated in our stake's 5K.  Nevermind the fact that we walked, and that we only did 1 lap instead of 2.  But hey it was starting to get hot and we were walking with some of our friends, we had 3 strollers, a dog and 5 adults in our group.  Lots of fun.  AND our ward won for most participants in the 5k :)

Lindsay sent us a package with this beauty in it, and Payton LOVES it!  We've worn it out for ice cream, and all over the house any day we possibly can.  She's such a cute little fairy.

I love how she's cuddling with her baby while she's sleeping.

My last day of school was a busy one.  This is how I spent the first hour in the morning (I was running very late because of it, but oh so worth it!).  She was a cuddle bug.  Payton had a rough day that day and had a fever of 103 and threw up while taking a nap.  So I took her to the doctors and found out she has an ear infection.  We're getting better though :)

Payton just getting into anything she possibly can

On Saturday night Payton was feeling better, so we went to Barnes & Noble and she made herself right at home.

 Playing with the trains

After Barnes & Noble we went out to eat at Paradise Bakery.

Sunday was a rough day for us.  Payton woke up very uncomfortable and not happy.  Her antibiotics had given her an upset stomach and she was not happy.  I spent 6:00-11:00 holding and cuddling a crying baby.  I felt so bad for her.  Payton finally fell asleep in my arms and took a three and a half hour nap!  When she woke up she was in a much better mood!  She was also very determined to go "bye bye" so we decided to go to the temple and walk around.

Payton was dying to get in the water.  At one point she even took off her shoes, ran to the side and put her feet in.

It was a very relaxing way to end the weekend and kick off our summer!

This One's For You Mom!

I just wanted to take a minute and say Happy Mother's Day to my mom and my sister and sister in laws!  I seriously have the best family, and the best examples of what the perfect mother is!  All of these women are by far the most loving, caring, patient women ever.  I realize I only listed three qualities, and they all have MANY more qualities than that, but they express those qualities to the nth degree.

Mom here are some reasons why I love you SO much!

1.  You are by far the most loving and caring person I know!

2. You are beyond willing to do anything and everything to make sure everyone has fun at any family event

3.  You are beyond supportive of any of your kids and grandkids and have always been there for us

4.  Everything about you screams LOVE!  You LOVE your kids and grandkids more than anything and it's a wonderful feeling to feel the love you have for us.

5.  You have literally been there for me any time I've needed you (having surgery, having Payton, going through the temple, Lake Powell....the list goes on and on and on).  I've never met anyone who is so willing to drop everything and be there for any one of her kids at any time!

6.  You love going anywhere with the family

This picture is just cute, I had to share :)

7.  You and Dad are spiritual giants!  You guys are great examples to all of us and the missionaries in Richmond, Virginia are going to be SO lucky to have you guys as their Mission President!  Thank you for always being my spiritual giant, especially during the times when I really needed one.

8.  You have the best laugh, and can laugh at anything!  :)

Thank you for all you have done for Payton and I.  We love you more than anything mom and wish we were there to spend Mother's Day with you.  Hope it was a great one!  WE LOVE YOU!

An Afternoon at the Train Park

This morning Payton and I were relaxing and not in any hurry to get ready for the day.  (We're allowed to be that way every once in a while right?)  I got a text from Paige around 9:00 saying they were going to go to a train park and they wanted Payton and I to join them. Logan is really into trains lately, and so they wanted to take him before it got too hot.

When we got to the park the kids were SO excited!  Payton didn't realize we were going anywhere with the Farmer's until we got out of the car and she saw them.  She screamed with excitement when she saw them it was adorable.

We had to buy some tickets for us (the adults), then we went on the carousel.  Payton didn't know what to think about it and was a pretty serious baby on it.  But she seemed happy.

Getting ready to ride the carousel

 Love this girl!

After we rode the carousel we decided to go ride a train.  It was a cute little train ride and Payton loved waving to all of the people we passed.  While we were waiting Payton's favorite thing was to either pick flowers, or hang on the fence.

She actually wore this hat most of the time (I'm SO impressed, and so happy since it was SUPER hot and sunny out and it was only 10:00 in the morning!)

She loved climbing the fence and waving to people

 Logan joined her :)

Tried to get a picture of us sitting on the train.

Payton and Logan were climbing all over the place while we were waiting for people to get on the train.

Enjoying the ride

After our train ride Payton was SO excited to take of running towards the park.  Which is really funny because she was squealing and yelling the whole time towards the park and she came to a screeching halt when she saw sand.  She has developed this phobia of sand, or an OCD of being clean and not wanting sand on her.  So I picked her up and carried her to the park.  Paige was wondering if Payton would let me put her down at all and any time I tried to put her down Payton would cling to me and lift her legs really high so they wouldn't touch the sand.

She had a lot of fun running around though and she would yell for Paige.  (I love how she says Paige's name).  I have a video of it, I'm going to tory and load it.

This cute wagon was next to the park, the kids loved playing in it

I love how she says Paige ;)

The last thing we did was go look at the train exhibit.  They seriously had trains EVERYWHERE!  It was so much fun.  The kids loved looking at the trains.

Some of the trains (they had them running overhead as well)

Payton would literally plater her whole face on the glass as she watched the trains

Love this girl so much!

We had a blast at the park with the Farmer's!  Afterwards we had a delicious lunch at Sweet Tomatoes (kids ate free!) and then came home.  It was the perfect start to our Saturday.
